Great start!

We are on day 2 of our summer fun with Zhenya.  He is such an amazing young man!  He is very handsome, athletic, funny, hungry all the time and always smiling! (and what a great smile it is)

We are having a wonderful time.  He fits in so well, it seems like he's always been here :)

We picked him up at the airport Wednesday night at 11:15.  By the time we got home, it was 12:15 and mom and dad were very tired!  But, the boys were all hungry (should I be surprised??), so we ate grilled chicken.  Zhenya LOVES chicken!  Bedtime was around 1:15 AM or so....

We shopped for clothes and shoes on Thursday.  He did very well and was excited to try on clothes.  So much so, that he tried on clothes in the store - NOT in the dressing room.  Once he took his shorts off to try on new shorts, I made him hit the dressing room :)  Too funny.

We enjoyed the movie "Brave" this morning with Grace and her boys.  Then we stopped at McDonald's for guess what.....chicken nuggets!  I suppose we'll head to the pool later this afternoon and check out his swimming skills.

His birthday is next week and he counts down everyday!  He is making sure we don't forget about it :)

One last thing...He can speak English really, really well.  What a blessing!!

Only 3 more days until we finally meet Zhenya!  For those of you that followed our hosting journey over Christmas, I need to clarify that this is a different child, just the same name.  Zhenya is a very common name in Ukraine, much like Mike is common here.  

We are all excited for Zhenya to arrive!  The boys have been busy cleaning out their rooms and making room for another boy!  I will be busy this week cleaning house and keeping laundry kept up.  (I learned quickly over Christmas how much more laundry just one child produces, so I want to be "caught up" before he gets here!  Is that even possible with laundry?!?)


His flight arrives late Wednesday night.  Hopefully we'll all sleep well and have a productive day Thursday buying clothes and shoes!  We are so thankful to all who participated in the chex mix fundraiser.  Your donations will go a long way towards clothes and other items needed during this hosting.
